Hello... My name is Calvin and I would like to know what is the true definition for a collection agency to validate a debt... I am looking at my credit report from equifax from equifax and there are two items that are in collections... I have been going back and forth with the original criditor for about four years now over this debt that was suppose to have happened over eight years ago... they were originally reporting it on my credit report as a charge-off about five years ago and now one of them is being reported by a collection agency with an opened account date of June 2007... On my credit report, there is no date of 1st delinquincy so I dont know when it is suppose to drop of of my credit report... (it seems like the 7 year period starts over every month)... I have had these items disputed through equifax over five times and I keep getting the response "verified" but nothing changes...
Now the question: How can equifax report items on your credit report without that critical piece of imformation and without that imformation, how are consumers suppose to know when the 7 year-6 month mark approaches?
